Reconstructing the Gospel – Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove
MARCH 26, 2018
Has your Christianity been compromised by racism, systematic abuse of power, or even white supremacy? If you’re offended by the mere question, you probably don’t want to listen to this episode of SBE.
Then again, maybe you like having your blind spots questioned. If so, join Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove on Steve Brown, Etc. for a discussion of his book Reconstructing the Gospel: Finding Freedom from Slaveholder Religion. If you’re concerned about the racial division in our country, finding the solution begins with honest dialogue about the problem.
Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove (MDiv, Duke Divinity School) is a writer, speaker, and activist. He’s an associate minister at the historically black St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, and is the author of Strangers at My Door, The Awakening of Hope, and The New Monasticism. Jonathan is also a coeditor of Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals.
