Join the Club

Somebody has said that he would never join a club that would accept him as a member.

That’s what the church does. I have a friend who went through a horrible divorce early in her marriage. If I ever get married again, she told me once, I’ll marry the ugliest man I can find. Nobody else will have him, and he will never leave.

You know, that’s kind of what Jesus did. He found a bunch of ugly, sinful people nobody else wanted. It’s one of the reasons I’ll never leave.

His club is one you might not want to join, but then it’s a club that will accept anybody.
