Wholeheartedness – Dr. Chuck DeGroat
FEBRUARY 29, 2016
Here’s a tough pill to swallow: Underneath all your busyness and exhaustion is the fear that you’re too fatally flawed to pull it all off. The toxin of shame drives you to prove to yourself and the world that you have what it takes. Then, frenzied and pulled in a thousand different directions, you look for rest and peace in all the wrong places.
Sorry, but your new time management app ain’t gonna fix that mess. You need wholeheartedness.
Join Dr. Chuck DeGroat on Steve Brown, Etc. for a discussion of his new book Wholeheartedness: Busyness, Exhaustion, and Healing the Divided Self. What if finding the rest and peace we long for is as easy as failing and falling into wholeness?
Dr. DeGroat is associate professor of pastoral care and counseling at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. He’s also the author of Toughest People to Love and Leaving Egypt: Finding God in the Wilderness Places.
