Dear Hal

Dear Hal, the little boy prayed.

Hal, his father asked? That’s his name, the boy said. You prayed, our Father, Hal would be your name.

I would have told him Jesus’ name is Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Mighty God. And then I think I would add, but because he loves you a lot, he will answer you, even if call him Hal.

Scripture says before you speak, I will answer. And if you’re a little boy, that’s true, even if you get the name wrong,
