God’s Choice
DECEMBER 16, 2024
Sometimes God’s choices don’t make sense. Aren’t you glad?
When I was growing up, everybody played sandlot baseball.
The ball was falling apart. The bats were all taped up. We didn’t care. There were usually two captains that chose teams. And there was always one boy, who wasn’t that good. And sometimes, he wasn’t even chosen. The boy was so sad and wanted to play so much.
One day, one of the captains had compassion for that boy and chose him first. You should have seen him, happy, exuberant, proud. I know how he felt, because I was that boy.
You know, I felt the same way when Jesus called me to himself, surprised and so very thankful.
I’m Steve Brown. You think about that.
