Lost Sermon Notes

The first time you do something, it’s kind of awkward, isn’t it?

Well, the first time I ever preached, thousands were saved and hundreds were healed. Actually, that’s not what happened. It was in a little church in the mountains of North Carolina, and I had three pages of sermon notes and lost the middle page. What did I do?

I stood there and grinned at them and was happy because it was obvious that God had not called me to be a preacher. I was released.

Some thousands of sermons later. I’m an example of if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

Now, if I lose my notes, I just keep talking until something comes to mind.
